A Prayer Of The Shela Hakadosh For The Children

To recite at any time, and especially important is to do it on the eve of Rosh Chodesh Sivan.

You have been Hashem, our God, since before creating the world, You are our God since you have created the world, and You will always be God. You have created Your world so that Your Divinity is known through Your sacred Torah, as our Sages said, of blessed memory, that You have created the world by Your Torah and by Israel, because they are Your people and the inheritance that you have chosen of all nations.

You have given them Your sacred Torah and you have brought them closer to Your great Name. And regarding the fulfillment of the Torah, we have received from You, Hashem, our God, two ordinances. You have written in Your Torah: “Be fruitful and multiply,” and also: “And they will teach them to your children.” And the purpose of both is the same, for You have not created the world to be empty, but to be inhabited, and by Your honor you have created, molded and perfected it, so that we, our descendants and all the descendants of Your people Israel, let us be knowledgeable of Your Name and scholars of Your Torah.

Therefore, I address You, Hashem, King of kings, and I pour my plea before You; and my eyes will be on you until you thank me and hear my prayer and give me sons and daughters; and that they also be fruitful and multiply, and their children, and the children of their children, until the end of all generations, so that they and all of us dedicate ourselves to Your sacred Torah, to learn and teach, to observe, to do and to fulfill all the words of the teachings of Your Torah with love. Enlighten our eyes with Your Torah, and attach our hearts to Your mitzvot, to love and revere Your Name.

Our Father, merciful Father! Grant us all a long and blessed life. Who is like You, Merciful Father, Who remembers His created for life with mercy! Remind us for eternal life, as our patriarch Abraham said:

“If only (Ishmael) lived before You …”; and our Sages interpreted it as “with reverence towards You”.

For I have come to ask and implore before You that my offspring and the offspring of my offspring are a straight offspring, and that you never find in me or in me offspring or in the offspring of my offspring, defect or imperfection, but peace and truth, kindness and righteousness, before the eyes of God and the eyes of man. May my children be scholars in the Torah, scholars in the Scriptures, scholars in the Mishnah, scholars in the Talmud, scholars in the Kabbalah; outstanding in mitzvot, outstanding in benevolence, outstanding in good qualities; and Serve you with love, and with internal fear, and not with superficial fear.

Honestly provide each of them with their needs, and give them health, honor and strength. Grant them good presence, beauty, grace and favor. And let there be love, brotherhood and peace among them. Make them find a worthy couple, family of scholars, family of the just; and that their partners are like them, like everything I have asked for my children, because a single order is enough for one and the other.

You Hashem know all that is hidden, and before You the secrets of my heart are revealed. For my intention in all this is for Your great and sacred Name, and for Your sacred Torah. Therefore, answer me, Hashem, answer me, for the sacred patriarchs Abraham, Yitzchak and Ya’akov. And for the patriarchs it saves the children, so that the branches resemble their roots; by David Your servant, who is the fourth wheel of Your Chariot, who sings with Divine inspiration.

Canticle of the stairs. Happy is he who fears Hashem, who is on his way. If you eat the effort of your hands, you will be happy and it will be good for you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vineyard in the corners of your home; Your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man who fears Hashem be blessed. May Hashem bless you from Zion and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. And that you see the children of your children, peace over Israel.

Please, Hashem, Who hears the prayers!

May the verse be fulfilled in me: “And I, this is My covenant with them, said Hashem: ‘My spirit that is upon you and My words that I have put in your mouth, must not be taken away from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, or the mouth of the offspring of your offspring – said Hashem – never ‘”. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing before You Hashem; my Maker and my Redeemer.

Amen see.amen
